Jeff's comment about opening up the home page is reflective of a tectonic shift in attitude emerging amongst the internet power players. Whether its Yahoo embracing great third party content or facebook enabling a tidal wave of third party widgets, its the consumer who will win. And the great success stories in business have always been the ones where the consumer wins.

Closed environments, corporate objectives and/or a wall street orientation never prevail against a customer centric strategy. Between Facebook, the rumors of MySpace opening up and the tenor of Jeff's message about Yahoo, we may be witnessing a ripening marketplace for business development and partnership. We could see a whole new wave of deal making coming soon.
