Way back when in Internet 1.0 times, we had the internet communist movement. Remember these folks?

"Everything on the internet should be free."

"Copyright doesn't apply to the internet!"

"The man is spoiling our world!"

I'm seeing a lot of this again as Web 2.0 becomes 3.0 or whatever we're evolving to. Unfortunately, too many new internet pioneers wrap themselves up in the DMCA and dodge their responsibilities.

Enter BayTSP and others like them. They are making millions at $100,000 to $500,000 per month per client hunting out violations of copyrighted materials. They are the legal discovery arm for the Media companies. Anyone who believes that they do not have to be proactive in removing copyrighted material is kidding themselves.

In our blog, we figure that even a modest case of allowing copyrighted materials to be uploaded to your site is probably a $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 lawsuit PER MEDIA COMPANY. (See our entry The Watchers....Copyright Police at ImpactInteractions.blogspot.com)

Forget Patent shops suing Microsoft, a bigger story is the media companies "protecting" their copyrights. Because after Viacom and Google figure this out, smaller sites are next in line...no matter what the internet communists think.
