I've never seen a product faced with more skepticism and laughter... Here's what I *think* they wanted to announced: - Foleo - Loaded with Google Apps (or similar) - Remote ability to store data At the last minute I'm guessing the licensing fell apart but Palm didn't want to lose the chance to keep their name in front of users given the iPhone which was soon to be released. So Palm made a risky bet that a little bit of FUD would buy them some breathing room. Ultimately they weren't able to come up with anything to drive this contraption (that's the kindest word I can think to call it -- since FLOPEO seems like it would only fit after the device had actually been released). My guess -- 6 months to a sale of Palm. Buyer is anyone's guess but I'm betting on RIM. How did Jeff Hawkins keep a straight face?
