R.I.P. Roy Scheider

Until the writers’ strike in Hollywood is over–and it will finally be officially over this week–BoomTown has been offering suggestions about stuff to watch.
While this has nothing to do with the Yahoo-Microsoft merger, the death of actor Roy Scheider reminded me that there is no question that the movie “Jaws”–in which he uttered the immortal line, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat”–was one of the most important in terms of moving technological special effects forward.
It was a mechanical shark, but it was a scary mechanical shark!
In that spirit, here is a very funny mash-up featuring Scheider:

In fact the line “we’re going to need a bigger boat” wasn’t in the original script, it was dialogue that Roy came up with.
Even though he’s passed away his final movie Iron Cross will be released later this year.
