The tone of Cnet has become flippant and jokey, mostly due to the Tom Merritt's mishandling of the content agenda.

Do they think I want to hear their 10 worst, or boxing matches between mac and pc, with hokey sound effects and video dressing? No.

I want tech news. That news now comes from sober and enlightening sources. One cannot call CNET sober and enlightening. You can't even call them irreverent - they are just bad.
