Yahoo Confirms Xoopit Purchase

Yahoo confirmed the news–first reported by BoomTown and in The Wall Street Journal last night–that it was buying Xoopit, the San Francisco social email company.

And it did so in both a blog post and on Twitter, as you can see here:

The price for the acquisition, which Yahoo did not reveal, was about $20 million, according to sources.

Kara Visits Tapulous to Try Out Tap Tap Revenge 2!

Last night, Tapulous launched the second version of its hugely popular iPhone game app, Tap Tap Revenge.

With Tap Tap Revenge 2, the Silicon Valley start-up is hoping to keep up the momentum of its first success on the Apple service.

I visited the Tapulous offices in a former storefront in downtown Palo Alto, Calif., to interview co-founders Andrew Lacy and Bart Decrem to talk about the iPhone ecosystem and where it is all going.

Angel Investor Ron Conway Speaks (About His Wise-Up-Silicon-Valley Missive)

Of course, the stock market had to come roaring back and it had to be extra sunny on the very day I was scheduled to have lunch with well-known Silicon Valley investor Ron Conway to talk about the worrisome state of the digital sector.

After all, it was Conway, as well as Sequoia Capital, who sent out a stink bomb of an email last week to his start-ups to deliver a simple message: The Web 2.0 party is over.
