Palin Nears One Million Facebook Fans, While Lagging on Twitter

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is certainly giving her Facebook fan page a workout this week, as she nears one million fans.

Using the site to flack her new book, “Going Rogue,” which comes out officially today, it got a big boost from her interview today with Oprah Winfrey, clocking in at close to 995,000 fans last night.

In comparison, her Twitter page was as empty of followers as the great outdoors.

Exclusive: Microsoft’s MSN Is in Early Talks With MySpace About Music Tie-Up

Microsoft’s MSN is in preliminary talks with MySpace about using the social networking site’s music service, MySpace Music, to power music offerings on the giant portal.

While sources at both companies cautioned that the talks are still early, Microsoft–which has its own music site that it programs with original and partnered content–execs are interested in goosing its offering.

That’s because MSN Music consistently ranks substantially lower than other big online music properties in terms of traffic, while MySpace Music is always near the top.

Viral Video: Mad (Wo)Men

Suddenly, it seems the AMC series about a 1960s advertising agency in New York, “Mad Men,” is having its “Sopranos” moment–with its stars all over the media, its fans more obsessive than ever, its ratings doubled in its third season and a renewal for a fourth season just today.

So, of course, there are also spoofs galore online too, some pretty elaborate, such as this one with a gender switcheroo. Fascinatingly, it still works.

Viral Video: Tim McGraw Tosses Rowdy Fan

Here’s another viral video that is making the rounds this week of country singer Tim McGraw himself ejecting a rowdy fan from a concert earlier this week.

This video, taken by another concert-goer, was from a McGraw performance at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Wash. It shows McGraw hauling a man by the belt out of the front row, after McGraw alleged he saw the man hit a woman.
