Viral Video: Twitteleh, Yet Another Twitter Parody Has Wings

Since it debuted last week, a spoof video for Twitteleh is rising fast, with close to 200,000 views on YouTube.

It’s one of the many parodies of the popular microblogging service, Twitter, which attracts them the way it attracts valuation-mad VCs.

Here Are Some Tasty Reader Submissions for the BoomTown Apple Tablet-Naming Contest

BoomTown has already gotten some very good submissions from readers for a contest to come up with a good moniker for the tablet device Apple is allegedly working on.

In a post earlier today, some of my ideas included: iTablet, iPad, iAmnotanetbook and iAmakindlekiller.

Viral Video: Forget Twitter, Google–How About Acquiring Nanoblogger Flutter?

On Friday, amid all the hoopla around acquisition rumors swirling around Twitter, Slate put out a very funny spoof on a fictional new service called Flutter.

The online magazine’s mockumentary about a nanoblogging service is definitely more amusing than contemplating the fate of the real-life microblogging service.

It’s mascot, of course, is a hummingbird and its 26-character messages are called “flaps.”

Here’s one heck of a rumor: BoomTown is in “late-stage” discussions to buy it.

Yahoo’s Scott Moore Speaks!

Scott Moore, who runs the Yahoo Media Group, sat down with BoomTown at the company’s Santa Monica headquarters last week to talk about the future direction of content at the company.

While the Media unit has had its ups and downs over the years about exactly what it should be–such as the controversial Hollywood-esque Lloyd Braun strategy–one thing that Yahoo has consistently done well is to aggregate and distribute its own and others’ content.
